Off-Grid Project
This house was built in the trees about 13 miles from the nearest power lines and was using a 12,000 watt, Kohler, propane powered, generator for power. We installed a WSS Magnum Power Center with a 48-volt Magnum 4,400-watt, 120/240 volt, inverter. Also included was a MidNite-Solar battery enclosure with (8) 12-volt, 110-amp/hr UPG batteries. To complete this system, (8) 130-watt Kyocera solar modules were mounted on a pole mount using an Outback FM60 charge controller. This control center features a generator transfer switch and automatic generator start function.
(8) 130-watt Kyocera KC 130TM solar modules mounted on pole mount out by the road where there was some sun.
WSS Magnum Power Center with Outback FM60 charge controller. All required disconnects and breakers are mounted on the compact power center.
Battery disconnect, as well as breakers for generator, inverter, solar panels and controller are mounted on the side of the Power Center.
Magnum Energy MERC-50
Mounted on the side of the Power Center to monitor and control the functions of the power center.
System installed on a horse barn - offsetting power usage of the home
Wholesale Solar is currently testing five different brands of solar panels using the Enphase Micro-Inverters.
Enphase Enerergy makes a Micro-Inverter, rated at 190-watts, that vastly improves the production of the overall power at sites that have some shading from trees. Typical "string-inverters" do not work well where there is any shading issues. Enphase Energy states that their inverters can increase power production by 5-25%

This house is producing all of the power it uses.
